Geremia Wine: Expression of Monti in Chianti Terroir In line with the desires of Rocca di Montegrossi’s producer, Marco Ricasoli Firidolfi, Geremia aims to express the character of Monti in Chianti terroir using Bordeaux grape varieties, with a predominance of Merlot (approximately 70%) and a component of Cabernet Sauvignon (30%).
Maturation and Aging Process Geremia wine exclusively matures in medium-toast Allier oak barriques for a period of approximately 24 months. After bottling without filtration, it undergoes further aging for an additional 18 months.
Sensory Characteristics Geremia is a powerful and intense wine, yet elegant and balanced, that highlights the characteristics of its terroir. It presents an intense ruby-red color, purple at the rim, with complex aromas reminiscent of sour cherries, currants, and other wild berries, accompanied by notes of vanilla, licorice, and chocolate.
Structure and Longevity This wine is characterized by significant structure and complexity, and its soft, velvety texture is a result of rich and perfectly matured tannins. It is considered a long-lived red wine that can be enjoyed even after 15-20 years of aging.
Limited Annual Production The average annual production of Geremia is approximately 15,000 bottles, ensuring a limited quantity of high-quality wine.
